How to Create Impact as a Woman in Leadership (Even When It Feels Like No One's Listening)
There is a lot of noise online.
And I don’t know about you, but lately my feed has been flooded, not with insight, not with inspiration, but with distraction. Memes. Headlines. AI-generated drama. (Shoutout to that whole Coldplay concert affair saga… yeah, that was a viral impact. Probably not the kind the CEO had in mind.)
So the question is: How do you create real impact?
Not just attention.
Not just visibility.
Impact.
The kind that moves people.
That cuts through.
That actually lands.
Let me take you through the four things I’ve learned really make a difference when you’re speaking, showing up, and leading your message into the world.
1. Connection (One-to-Many Starts with One)
The fastest way to go from one-to-one to one-to-many is speaking.
But the way you create impact isn’t by trying to be for everyone. When you try to be for everyone, you end up not being for anyone.
You build impact by building connection—and you do that by speaking to one person.
Whether you’re leading a keynote, facilitating a workshop, going live on Facebook or Instagram, or even presenting in a boardroom… speak like you’re having a conversation. Keep it grounded. Make it real.
Connection isn’t about scale. It’s about intimacy in your message, even when you’re speaking to many.
2. Trust (Storytelling Opens the Door)
Once you have connection, what comes next is trust.
People trust you when they feel like they know you. And the fastest way to create that is through storytelling.
When you tell a story, your story, you open the door to your world. And when people see themselves inside that story, they begin to believe: maybe that’s possible for me, too.
There’s a method to storytelling that allows it to build trust, not just entertain. When it’s crafted from truth, it lands. It resonates. It disarms the performance energy and creates a sense of, “She’s the real deal.”
3. Action (Move People Without Forcing a CTA)
Impact isn’t just about emotion... it’s about motion.
Yes, you can invite people to work with you, follow you, and join your program. But sometimes moving someone to action looks like helping them think differently. Helping them choose differently.
One of the ways I’ve done this?
Sharing my own story of climbing the corporate ladder, while quietly burning out behind the scenes.
After I told that story, so many people came up to me and said, “I didn’t know that about you… you really made me reflect.”
Some even told me they started making changes after hearing it.
That’s how you know something has cut through. It’s not about selling. It’s about shifting.
4. Owning the Moment (Land the Message)
When you’ve got someone’s attention—own it.
Whether you're in a meeting, on a stage, or sharing online… don’t rush through it. Pause and land. Repeat your message. Let it breathe.
This is how your message sticks. It’s not just about what you say. It’s about how you land it.
So ask yourself:
What do I want my audience to really hear?
What truth do I want to imprint?
What would I say if I only had 30 seconds—and I wanted them to remember it?
Own the moment. And let your voice land.
It’s Not About Being Louder. It’s About Being More You.
So if you’re wondering how to create real impact, start here.
Are you truly connecting with one person in your message?
Are you telling stories that let people see your world?
Are you calling them to the possibility, not just to buy?
Are you letting your message land?
Do a quick self-audit.
Ask yourself: “Am I speaking from truth, or just trying to be seen?”
Because the impact you're here to make doesn't need to be louder.
It needs to be more you.
